Classrooms

A high-quality, systematic, comprehensive preschool curriculum is critical to preparing all children for future success in school. Gold Hill Preschool’s Experience Early Learning curriculum is a well-established, comprehensive, year-long preschool curriculum that:

  • Provides explicit instruction in early language, reading, and math skills.
  • Combines child-centered explorations with teacher-directed instruction.
  • Provides in-depth formal and informal assessment.
  • Includes rich English and Spanish resources.
  • Integrates Professional Development into each lesson plan.
  • Features activities for families to extend the learning day.

Our curriculum is foundational, as the child grows our curriculum grows with them. Your child will be placed in a classroom with learners who are all within a six-month age range so that they learn and grow together. Children will change classrooms once a year in the fall but will typically remain with the same peers throughout the program. Older siblings will be encouraged to interact with their younger siblings throughout the day.

Our curriculum is developed with the understanding that no two children are the same. Children are able to expand their minds to new horizons while engaging in activities that will help stimulate their curiosity. We want Gold Hill Preschool to be a home away from home, we want to ensure that every child is comfortable and happy, and every family knows that their most prized possessions are being cared for with love.

Our parents, will have access to "Brightwheel", an App that can be downloaded directly to their cell phone or PC which will allow them to remain connected and communicate with the team throughout the day. This provides an avenue to send messages and receive updates on their child's progress.

Infants Classroom

Infants (6 weeks- 12 months)

Our trained staff provide our infants a loving, safe, and enriching environment. Our Infant curriculum encourages sensory and tactile activities including creative expression and language development by using songs, interactive play, hand gestures and facial expressions. In addition, we focus on the fine motor skills of each individual child and develop play activities that reflect their skills, abilities and likes.

Toddlers Classroom

Toddlers (12 months- 24 months)

We follow a proven toddler curriculum that focuses on social and emotional development, by building the toddlers independence with simple math, reading, arts and science experiments. Our experienced toddler teachers will broaden the children’s horizon by encouraging the use of hands-on activities that help the children to master their fine motor skills. The goal of this age group is to encourage independent thinking, curiosity and to develop a willingness to try new things.

Preschool Classroom

Early Preschoolers (2-Year Olds)

Early preschoolers are at a critical stage of development where their inquisitive personalities will blossom as they begin to start making choices and experience independence on their own. At this stage in a child's life, becoming potty trained is an independent skill that every child will learn. Through mutual cooperation and communication with our parents, and through positive affirmations, our toddlers find potty training to be a pleasant experience.

Preschoolers (3-Year Olds)

At the preschool level, children are transitioning from an independent stage to a more self-aware stage. Teachers will utilize activities to enhance the curriculum to increase the children’s cognitive development, social and emotional development, and their language and literacy development. Through the curriculum and enhancements, children will be able to recognize their numbers, letters, sounds, second level colors and work on writing sight words.

PreK Classroom

Pre - Kindergarten Class (4 and 5 year olds)

Pre-K is a time when the majority of a child's understanding of basic concepts will be determined. We will assist the children with mastering their learning of letter sounds, fine motor skills and beginning reading. Our teachers will ensure that when each child reaches the critical age of four, they will be well prepared to retain and understand the concepts that will be taught in kindergarten. Children will be in an enriching environment where each child has the opportunity to express themselves by discovering and experiencing learning in a uniquely individual way.
